We do not expect our service users to be members of Jewish Women's Aid and our services are free for those who need them.

However, provision of our services is costly. While we receive some government and trust fund funding, these only pay about a quarter of our annual costs and we depend on fundraising events, appeals, donations and membership.

Each year, more abused Jewish women and their children are being helped by Jewish Women's Aid.

Last year, over 630 Jewish women who experienced domestic violence turned to Jewish Women’s Aid for help. The funds provided by our members and supporters have allowed Jewish Women's Aid to improve our services, enabling us to reach and help even more families in need. These services depend heavily on the strength and backing of our membership.

As a membership organisation, we rely on the support of Jewish women to enable us to continue providing services for those affected by domestic violence. Your subscription will also help to raise awareness that domestic violence does exist within the Jewish community and that it is completely unacceptable.

Jewish Women's Aid (JWA) would like to include every Jewish woman in the UK as a member to demonstrate that the community will not tolerate domestic violence. So please encourage your friends to review this website and become a member of JWA.

Our members receive information and three newsletters a year from us, to inform them about our work. They also receive priority notification of our events.

JWA standard membership starts from as little as £20.00 a year and if you are able to upgrade your membership, you can help even more.

• Standard Annual Membership
  This costs £20.00 p.a. – this could buy two personal attack alarms for women in fear of further violence.
• A Friend of JWA
  Being a Friend of JWA costs just £45.00 a year – this is equivalent to the average cost of providing a ‘Refuge Welcome Pack’ of basic kosher foods and toiletries for a woman and her children entering the refuge on an emergency basis. Some families arrive with only the clothes they stand up in.
• A Life Member of JWA
  Being a Life member costs a one off payment of £250.00 – this is enough to keep our Confidential National Helpline open for 7 weeks.
• Special Friend of JWA
  To become a Special Friend of JWA involves a commitment of £3000 p.a. for 3 years.
