International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women campaign Each November, JWA runs our annual campaign for IDEVAW, the United Nation's designated International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, 25th November. Our national campaign is cross-communal, across the whole Jewish community, asking people to help us in our crucial work against Violence Against Women & Girls. COMMUNAL SUPPORT FOR JWA'S IDEVAW CAMPAIGN We are very grateful for support from across the Jewish community: The support of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, and from the Jewish Leadership Council; The support of the Chief Rabbi in a video message; The endorsements from all of the main synagogue movements, who contribute to an advert in the Jewish press and who ask their synagogues to display the campaign poster in their foyer; All the Rabbis who speak out about violence against women in the Jewish community, on the Shabbat closest to IDEVAW. We are also very grateful that so many volunteers put up campaign posters in their shuls, in shops, in cafes and restaurants, in health clubs and hairdressers - and so grateful for the support from the places themselves! 2018 Campaign Our 2018 campaign is now closed, and we were delighted that we passed our target - raising a wonderful £22,000.2018 campaign update THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE WHO CONTRIBUTED!
