We want to say a huge thank you to Sarah and Mya Anderson (aged 12), a mother and daughter fundraising team who climbed Helvellyn mountain in the Lake District as part of their Bnei mitzvah charity challenge. They completed a two day hike up the mountain from the 1st-3rd July and the summit is an incredible 2,572 feet high!

After 16 hours of climbing, they, with other parents and children, reached the peak of the summit despite difficult weather conditions. A huge achievement and they managed to raise over £650 for Jewish Women’s Aid!

Sarah said, ‘when we decided to be part of this challenge, we needed to choose a charity to raise money for and we decided on Jewish Women’s Aid. JWA carry out incredible work to support women and children who have experienced domestic and sexual abuse as well as educating secondary school children on the importance of respect and consent. Huge thanks to Matt, Natalie, Sarah and the team of volunteers for making our charity challenge possible for us’.

From all of us- thank you so much Sarah and Mya for raising funds for JWA and congratulations on your achievement!
