Each year, thousands of women face physical, emotional, psychological, sexual, or economic abuse, and this also profoundly impacts their children.
Jewish Women's Aid is the only specialist organisation in the UK supporting Jewish women and children affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence.

The Jewish community is no different
No one should face abuse alone
As the go-to service for supporting abused women in the Jewish community, JWA is here to help.
As well as direct work with clients, we work with the community providing outreach, education and prevention work.
Mission, Vision & Impact
We work specifically in the Jewish community to end domestic abuse and sexual violence against women and girls.
Our mission
- Support and empower women and girls who are affected by domestic abuse and violence in their intimate relationships, and/or sexual violence;
- Increase awareness, education and understanding in order to prevent violence against women and girls in the Jewish community;
- Provide client-centred support for women and children, by women.
Our vision
Is of a world without violence against women and girls. We exist to help end violence against women and girls in the Jewish community, and to support Jewish women and children affected by it.
We are committed to:
- Providing a confidential, non-judgemental and culturally sensitive service
- Working with women and children across all sectors of the Jewish community, and respecting their choices
- Collaborative working
- Forward thinking and continuous development
- Being feminist in our understanding of violence against women and girls
- Being diverse and anti-discriminatory within our operational framework
Our impact
Since being established in 1995, JWA has become a key communal resource in the Jewish community. We are now the go-to service for anything around domestic abuse and violence against women.
As our referrals continue to increase, so too increasing numbers of rabbis and communal professionals recognise the need to speak out and support women who are affected by violence or abuse – making our community a place where abuse of women is not tolerated.
