JWA relies on the generosity of our supporters for the majority of our income. There are many ways to fundraise for us, including taking on a challenge, asking for donations instead of gifts for your simcha, or making JWA one of your shul’s nominated charities.

Donations in place of gifts
If you are hosting a dinner party or celebrating a special occasion, ask for donations to JWA instead of a gift

Whether taking part in a sporting event like the London Marathon or the Maccabi Fun Run, or creating your own challenge, challenging yourself can be a great way to encourage friends and family to sponsor you in aid of JWA. Abseil, parachute jump or climb a mountain – the possibilities are endless!

It could be a business breakfast at your place of work, a coffee morning or invite people to your home in the evening to raise awareness about what we do and to share information about our services.
To find out moreCommunity fundraising
The support of the Jewish community is crucial to our work and there are many opportunities for your synagogue community to support us, across all age groups. We’ll provide you with educational materials and resources to help your efforts.
Here are some ideas:
- Ask us for a JWA tzedakah box, to keep on the reception desk (it’s also a great way of raising awareness!)
- Make JWA a nominated charity for your High Holy Days or other Yom Tov appeal
- Put a regular small ad in your e-newsletter, with a link to our Donate page
- Include an advertorial in your shul magazine, along with your synagogue’s own fundraising page for JWA
- Organise talks and activities for the annual Jewish Women’s Aid shabbat, linked to a fundraising campaign
- Create a youth event with education and fundraising
- As part of your Bnei Mitzvah programme, offer participants the opportunity to connect their simcha with the mitzvah of giving to others who need help. They could donate a percentage of money received, organise a fundraising challenge event or ask guests to donate as part of their gift
