JWA is currently recruiting for the following roles:

Jewish Women's Aid provides free counselling support to Jewish women who are affected by domestic violence and abuse.

We are recruiting for our face-to-face counselling service in North-West London, Stamford Hill &  Manchester, and for our nationwide telephone counselling service.

We are looking for qualified counsellors (minimum diploma level) who have some experience in working with vulnerable adults, have a good understanding of the Jewish community, and are aware of the issues faced by Jewish women experiencing domestic violence and abuse.

Counsellors will see a minimum of two clients on a weekly basis, to fit around their commitments. JWA offers regular supervision and CPD.

This would be a rewarding volunteering opportunity that would help make a real change in the lives of Jewish women.

For our confidential, anonymous domestic abuse Helpline, open 9.30-9.30 Mon-Thurs (excluding Jewish and public holidays).

Jewish Women's Aid's Helpline is there for when a woman summons up the strength and courage it takes to speak about the domestic violence & abuse which she is affected by.

The Helpline is staffed entirely by volunteers, who do two to three 3-hour shifts per month. It is a virtual Helpline, which volunteers do from home.  Typically, a woman is abused 35 times before speaking out about the abuse. That means that Helpliners need specific skills to be able to listen, help a caller tell her difficult story, and empower her to make choices to access the help and support she needs. All new Helpliners get a full training, and get full support when on their shifts.
