Hannah takes on Strictly Come Dancing for Jewish Women’s Aid
I thought it was time I took on a challenge for charity, but why I’m not just doing the more sensible thing of climbing Everest I don’t know because dancing in front of 400 people is suddenly feeling a VERY daunting prospect!
On 3rd November, I will be dancing with a professional ballroom partner on the stage of the beautiful Stoller Hall in Manchester as part of Maccabi’s Strictly Come Dancing event.
Not much of a dancer (excluding the dancing I do around my kitchen island when I’m cleaning with my 90’s music at full blast), this is definitely going to be a big challenge for me – and also because I need to fit my huge size 9 feet into some dainty ballroom shoes!
I really wanted to be part of a community event and one which was fun and uplifting. I also wanted to challenge myself to doing something out of my comfort zone so here we are…
This year each candidate is fundraising for their chosen community charity and I have decided to raise money for Jewish Women’s Aid. I thought it would be fitting to involve a charity whose aim is to empower and lift up women within the community who are suffering from abuse.
Anything you are able to give would be MASSIVELY appreciated and the more money we raise the more I will be encouraged to keeeeeeep dancing!
Thanks so much in advance
