Noa Climbs for JWA
As part of my Bat Mitzvah, my mum and I are completing a charity Bnei Mitzvah Challenge by climbing two mountains in the Lake District over one weekend.
On Friday 4th July, we will be climbing up Blencathra, which has a height of 868 meters (2,848 feet) and on Sunday 6th July, we will be climbing up the iconic peak of Helvellyn which will take approximately 7 hours, and is around 3,111ft. It won’t be easy!
We will be taking on this challenge together with a group of friends and their parents – all of us have started training for the big weekend!
I hope to raise as much money as possible for my chosen charity, Jewish Women’s Aid. Many of you only know this charity because of the posters on the toilet doors in shul but I know a whole lot more from my mum who has worked there for the last 6 years. Not only do they help women and girls who have experienced abusive relationships but they also do loads of work to educate young people and the whole community about healthy relationships. She even once came and taught one of my classes – which was quite embarrassing! As I am nearly at the end of my first year in secondary school, I can see how important it is to have healthy, respectful relationships and I know the work that Jewish Women’s Aid does is so vital in our community. Thank you so much for your generous donations. It really will make a huge difference.
