The Sirens Trek Cornwall for JWA
In June, 17 intrepid women calling themselves ‘The Sirens’ will be donning their walking boots and setting off on a 4 day trek along the coasts of Cornwall to raise much needed funds for Jewish Women’s Aid.
In June, 17 intrepid women calling themselves ‘The Sirens’ will be donning their walking boots and setting off on a four day trek along the Cornish coast to raise vital funds for Jewish Women’s Aid.
Right now, more Jewish women than ever are turning to JWA for help. Last year alone, the charity supported over 800 Jewish women affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence. This is a 24% increase on the previous year. Many are living with coercive and controlling behaviour, emotional abuse, financial abuse and sexual violence behind closed doors.
As well as supporting women and children directly affected by abuse, JWA works tirelessly through education and outreach to help prevent abuse before it starts. Their programmes in schools, universities and across the wider community encourage healthy relationships, challenge harmful behaviours, and break the silence around domestic abuse and sexual violence. By starting conversations early and reaching people across all parts of the community, JWA is helping to create a safer future for Jewish women and girls.
This trek is completely self-funded, which means every penny raised will go directly towards supporting Jewish women and children who need safety, practical support, and a way forward.
By supporting our hike, you are helping ensure that no Jewish woman has to face abuse alone.
Thank you so much for your kindness, encouragement, and support. It truly means a great deal.
With much love
