Joanne Black

Chair of Trustees

Joanne is a seasoned leader with extensive experience in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors, bringing a wealth of strategic insight and a passion for empowering women and girls to her new role as Chair of Jewish Women’s Aid (JWA).

Throughout her career, Joanne has demonstrated a commitment to making a positive impact. As a director and owner at the Regatta Group, she plays a pivotal role in driving business growth and fostering inclusive leadership practices. Her strategic acumen and ability to lead through change have earned her a reputation as a dynamic and forward-thinking leader.

In the nonprofit sector, Joanne was Co-Chair at Nightingale Hammerson until August 2024 where she contributed to enhancing the lives of residents and supporting organisational development. Her work there reflects her deep sense of compassion and commitment to community well-being.

She returns to JWA where she was a trustee between 2013 – 2020. In her time she focussed on governance and fundraising.

Joanne’s dedication to supporting women and girls has been a defining theme of her career. She has consistently championed initiatives that promote equality, empowerment and opportunity, aligning perfectly with the mission and values of JWA. She supports girls education in the Regatta school in Bangladesh and a women’s health education programme throughout the company’s manufacturing base.

As Chair, Joanne is thrilled to further strengthen JWA’s impact, supporting women and children affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence, ensuring that their voices are heard and their needs met.

“I am excited to again blend my corporate expertise and nonprofit experience to help the exceptional team at JWA into its next chapter of advocacy and support.”
