International Day For The Elimination Of Violence Against Women- IDEVAW 2022 and 16 Days of Activism Today is the International Day For the Elimination of the Violence Against Women (IDEVAW) which marks the start of the 16 days of Activism against gender-based violence, until the 10th December. IDEVAW was instituted by the United Nations and each year we host our Jewish Women's Aid Shabbat during the 16 days, as a way of bringing the issue of violence against women to prominence in our community. The UN has said, 'Violence against women is pervasive but its not inevitable- unless we stay silent.'
