Today is the International Day For the Elimination of the Violence Against Women (IDEVAW) which marks the start of the 16 days of Activism against gender-based violence, until the 10th December.
IDEVAW was instituted by the United Nations and each year we host our Jewish Women's Aid Shabbat during the 16 days, as a way of bringing the issue of violence against women to prominence in our community.
The UN has said, 'Violence against women is pervasive but its not inevitable- unless we stay silent.'
Please join us on day 1 of our campaign to raise awareness, to talk, to come together to end violence against women and girls for good.
