Message from our patron Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis

"There is no place for violence in our homes, where every person has a right to feel safe and protected, and it is our duty to wipe out every last trace of it. I urge everyone to take stand against the scourge of domestic violence and to support the campaign initiated by Jewish Women's Aid, together with the Board of Deputies." Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis, November 2017

Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis is our patron.

He recorded a special video message for International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women 2018 in support of our work.

    'Get' Refusal & Forced Marriage

Some men refuse to give their wives a 'Get' - Jewish document of divorce - which 'chains' them to the marriage even if they have been divorced in the civil courts. Forced marriage is when a woman has been coerced into getting married.
