We were honoured to be invited to the BBC 100 Women 10th Birthday celebration at the Barbican Centre, London last night. The event also marked the 90th anniversary of the BBC World Service and Centenary of the BBC, with the theme being Progress, looking at what has changed for women in the past decade.
Our CEO Naomi Dickson was one of the BBC 100 Women in 2020 and received an invite along with two JWA staff members Anat and Suzi.
Our team attended an exclusive private viewing at Barbican Curve Gallery of Iranian-British artist Soheila Sokhanvari's Rebel Rebel exhibition. An evening of discussion followed, including a panel of esteemed guests from the women’s sector, including Gina Martin and Laura Bates at The Everyday Sexism Project. The premiere of a BBC documentary on the Iran protests was then played in the Barbican Cinema.
Thank you to everyone at BBC 100 Women and the Barbican, for a truly inspiring and wonderful event on women’s rights. Happy 10th anniversary!
