Interim Chief Executive - Monica Tuohy Expand Monica has worked in senior roles in the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Sector for almost 30 years, including at Solace Women’s Aid, Southall Black Sisters, male victim and perpetrator agency Respect, and the London Boroughs of Haringey and Westminster. Monica has had a long association with JWA having acted as Interim CEO on two separate occasions prior to 2023. Monica is a Chartered Member of the Institute for Personnel and Development (CIPD).
Director Of Client Services - Karen Lewis Expand Karen has worked at JWA since 2012 and is JWA’s Director of Client Services. She is responsible for the Advocacy and Therapeutic Services, including the Helpline & Webchat and is the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the organisation. Karen is an accredited Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Service Manager and has a background in community advocacy. She has previously established and managed a mental health advocacy service for an Islington-based charity and ran projects for Barnet Children’s Services in North London, including an Independent Visitors Scheme for children in the care system. Karen is also a Trustee of Home Start Barnet, a local charity that supports families in times of need. Karen loves working for JWA because ‘we support and empower women, the organisation provides a warm, supportive and caring environment and I learn something new every single day’’.

Director Of Business Services - Ruth Wagner Expand Ruth is responsible for Business Services across the organisation. She has worked for a variety of charities throughout her career and has experience across all operational areas such as fundraising, processes, HR and communications. Ruth joined JWA in May 2022 and said, ‘It’s a privilege to work for JWA alongside such dedicated colleagues.'
Our Front Line Team- Support Workers, Counsellors, Therapists Expand Our frontline team consists of trained professionals such as child therapists, counsellors, Independent Sexual Violence Advocates, Independent Domestic Violence Advocates, Domestic Violence Support Workers and a parenting coach. Due to the sensitive nature of their work with clients, it is preferred that they remain anonymous.
Advocacy Services Manager - Annette Murphy Expand Annette is our Advocacy Services Manager, managing our advocacy and sexual violence service (with our front line teams).
Therapeutic Services Manager - Anat Rosenwaks Expand Anat is JWA's Therapeutic Services Manager and has been with us since 2013. She is responsible for all therapeutic services at JWA: counselling, support groups, children's therapy and complementary therapies. Her background is as a Clinical Psychologist, and she has specific expertise in trauma work. Anat loves working for JWA because, 'I enjoy working in a feminist organisation that is so passionate about ending violence against women and girls. working with such committed colleagues who always look at ways of improving our services is a very special experience.'
Volunteers Manager - Judy Roth Expand Judy Roth is our Volunteers Manager. She recruits and trains volunteers for administration, education, awareness, helpline and other roles. She is based in London but regularly travels up north to meet with and train volunteers there. Judy previously worked as a health visitor, and a teacher, and has experience of working in the Jewish community alongside volunteering experience including volunteer management.
VAWG Outreach Lead - Ziona Handler Expand Ziona is our Violence Against Women and Girls Outreach Lead and she has been working for JWA since 2012. She trains Jewish professionals about domestic abuse and non-Jewish professionals about additional obstacles and challenges to reporting domestic abuse for Jewish women. Ziona is an integral part of the Advocacy Team. After previously working with Jewish survivors of domestic abuse, Ziona is passionate about raising awareness of the issues that women face and breaking down the barriers to accessing support.
Youth Engagement Worker - Amy Drage Expand Amy is our Youth Engagement Worker. She creates and delivers JWA’s informal education programme for young people aged 16-25, giving talks and workshops on healthy relationships and consent. Amy loves working for JWA because of all the different ways it supports women and girls, and because of how committed all the teams are to their work. Schools Manager - Ilana Hutchinson Expand Ilana Hutchinson is our Schools Manager. She joined JWA in May 2019. She is responsible for the Education Programme working in Jewish schools with teenagers on healthy relationships education. She encourages young people to discuss what makes a healthy relationship and how to identify the signs of unhealthy relationships. Community Engagement Officer - Barbie Goldfoot Expand Barbie is our Community Engagement Officer and joined JWA in April 2023. Barbie is developing our Community Prevention Programme, engaging with synagogues and community organisations, educating about domestic abuse, and embedding healthy attitudes and practices. Barbie is an experienced trainer and educator in the community, working in areas such as sexual health, mental health, and neurodiversity. Barbie loves working for JWA because of its outstanding work to help Jewish women's lives.
Sexual Harassment Consultant - Emma Gray Expand Emma is the Project Manager of the Workplace Sexual Harassment Prevention Programme, a programme led by Jewish Women’s Aid in partnership with the Jewish Leadership Council. It supports organisations in the Jewish community via training, mentoring and policy good practice to create safe, respectful and productive workplaces, and to ensure sexual harassment is not tolerated. Emma is an experienced project manager who has worked in the VAWG sector for the majority of her career.

Trusts and Foundations Consultant - Nicola Nathan Expand Nicola is our Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser.
Donor Care Consultant - Deborah Samuel Expand Deborah is our consultant Fundraiser who has been working on projects with us since October 2018. She helps raise essential funds which in turn ensures that we can continue our vital work. She also consult for other charities and enjoys (juggling) managing a variety of projects. Deborah loves working for JWA and is 'proud to be part of such a strong dedicated team whose combined aim is to help women and their children across our community.'
Office Manager - Suzi Epstein Expand Suzi is the Office Manager and joined us in March 2009. She looks after the smooth running of the London and Manchester offices and ensures staff are well equipped to carry out their important key functions within JWA.
